Trails

Off Road Trails

Hooper Road Park: Take I-110 to the Baton Rouge Airport Exit onto Harding Blvd. north toward Plank Rd. Harding Blvd. will become Hooper Rd. at the first red light. Stay on Hooper Rd. until you get to the next red light, turn left onto Cedar Glen in the Sharon Hills neighborhood. When Cedar Glen dead ends, turn right onto Guynell. Continue on Guynell for two blocks and you will be at the entrance of Hooper Road Park. The trailhead is on the left as you enter the parking lot.

Comite Trail System: Take I-110 to the Baton Rouge Airport Exit onto Harding Blvd. north toward Plank Rd. Harding Blvd. will become Hooper Rd. at the first red light. Stay on Hooper Rd. until you see the sign for the Kerry Stamey Trail System / Comite River BREC Park.  This trail head is ~ 2 miles further than the entrance to the Sharon Hills Subdivision on the Right Side of the road.

The Beast Trail: From Baton Rouge - Take 110 N to exit 8B/US61. Continue on US61 to St. Francisville (approx 22 miles). Towards the north end of town is a Mobil gas station on the left. Take a right onto West Feliciana Parkway, which is just south of the gas station. Follow the road into the park to the parking area near the concession stand.  The trail starts here but loops around the expansive grassy area of the park before entering the woods.  Good Luck.

Clear Springs Recreational Area: From Baton Rouge -  Take Exit 8A from Interstate 110 due north on LA 19.  LA 19 once in Mississippi becomes MS 33.  Continue North until you arrive at US Hwy 84/ US Hwy 98.  Turn Due East (Right) onto US 98/84 and continue for 7.5 miles till sign for Clear Springs Recreational Area and follow directions.

Wild Azalea Trail:  From Alexandria - Drive west on Louisiana Highway 28 for 12 miles to Louisiana Highway 121 at Gardner. Turn left (south) and go 0.25 mile to Forest Road 279 (Valentine Road). Turn left (east) on Hwy 279 and go 3.5 miles to Forest Road 205, where you will turn left (north) and proceed to the recreation area entrance and fee station.

Lincoln Parish Park:  From Ruston - Drive North on LA Hwy 33 for ~ 7 miles.  Approximately 0.5 miles North of the Flashing Caution Light look on the left for Lincoln Parish Park Road.  The park entrance is at the end of the street. 

Eddy D Jones Park AKA Monkey Trail:  From Shreveport -  I-20 take inter freeway 3132 east to walker road. On walker road go south to colquit road. Take a right onto colquit then continue till you reach spring ridge. At the caution light take a left. After about .5 mile on 169 take a left in the sharp curve onto 789. Follow 789 for about 3-5 miles and the park entrance will be on teh right, beside a church.

Bonnet Carre Spillway Trails:  From Baton Rouge - Take I-10 east to Hwy. 51 in Laplace. Turn left onto Airline Hwy. then take a left. Once you cross the spillway take a left onto the levee and park in the boat launch parking area. the trail is in the woods to the north.
