i'm a commuter. ride between 10 and 30 (road/bike path) miles per day, 3-5 days a week (avg is ~20 per day). needed replacements for some more "race-y" tires that wore out in < 600 miles and flatted out on me every 100 miles or so. the good: indestructible and reliable in all kinds of conditions. i've ridden this in rain, near-snow, and perfect (dry) conditions. holds the road well. i've also ridden them over glass shards, sharp stones/obstacles, and potholes that could swallow a great dane. not a single flat. i liked them enough that i bought a set for my wife only two weeks after i got the first set. the not-so-good: not much in this category. only real complaint is that they give a harsher ride than i'm used to. it's probably because these things _are_ very hard tires. but i'll take a little harsher ride if it means i don't have to deal with a popped tube every other week.

I have a set of 700X23C "All Condition" on my Specialized Sequoia. My first year I logged over 2,000 miles on these tires with no problems. I recently completed a cross state road trip (CNC - Cycle North Carolina), 460 miles on rough rural roads with 1,280 other riders. Many flats were seen along the way and yet my tires endured the road trash and broken glass with no problems. I am looking forward to seeing just how many miles I can achieve with this set of tires before I have to replace them from wear or puncture. I HIGHLY recommend Specialized road bike tires.

One of the best commuter tires

I've used 700x28 on my commuter bike for over 7yrs, and log on average 2 to 3k miles/year. In this time, I had three flats. I hit a razor blade, hit a fairly large rock on a soft tire at night and recently hit something again at night and it did cut the tire. Each flat was extreme conditions. I can not count the number of times I've ran over glasses, rocks and general road junk without any issue. When I do replace the tires, I don't even look at any other tires. I go for the Armadillo's. I weight 210 and the bike is a steel frame 15 speed and they carry me well.

Tire pressure and ride

These tires are amazing. I rode over glass in the road twice on one ride, these babies never lost air and kept on spinning.I found the best ride to be with 60lb of air in tire. I have now aired up to 120, but have not had a chance to try it out yet. These are the all-condition tires, but they have a nice tread pattern.Flat in the middle. but arrowhead type grips for traction on the outer edge. I wish I could find another pair. I would but them right now. Simply cannot go wrong with this tire.

[...] these tires are virtually impregnable. The only flat i've ever caught on a set of armadillos was from a nail going in at 90 degrees. the downside of the armadillo's impregnable surface is that it doesn't quite ride like rubber. But if fixing a flat once a week and being late to work seems like a drag give these a chance.

These are wonderful tires. I am a 250lb rider and have ridden a set for 1,500 miles without a flat. On normal (non racing) tires, I would expect a flat every 6-800 miles. I am having to replace the front tire because I had no choice but to ride through a pile of broken glass. Lots of horrific looking gouges but no flats! The price you pay for this is that the tire is heavy and inflexible. The grip is adequate but not outstanding, the ride is (maybe) a little harsher and -- most importantly -- they are a nightmare to get on or off the rims. But I hate changing flats and with these tires you almost never ever have to.
